On the Orange Carpet at the 42nd Annual ACM Awards Shania said she is in songwriting mode, and that she is working on a new album which should be ready next year. "I'm enjoying the songwriting part of it. There's a lot of reflection involved when I'm putting songs together...but I do look forward to going back out."  "We haven't even decided where we're to go record it yet...We're putting some demos together. I'm working really hard on the lyrics. I want to be as true to myself as possible, well completely true to myself with the lyrics. It takes a lot of thought."

Shania introduced Reba at the start of the ACM Awards on Tuesday night. Shania then presented the Entertainer of the Year Award to Kenny Chesney at the end of the show.  Be sure to check out the ACM Gallery.

0705.10-Shania to attend ACM Awards [STNAOFC]:

According to a press release posted by a fan on the Shania Boards, Shania is scheduled to attend the ACM Awards Show in Las Vegas on May 15th. The show will be broadcast on CBS and starts at 8pm. Shania ranks 56 on FHM Magazine's 100 Sexiest Women of 2007 list. Shania is the oldest woman on the list. FHM says "One of the highest-selling recording artists of all-time and the woman who brought sex appeal to country music, Shania hasn’t done much in the past few years, but she’s still as popular as ever" Congratulations Shania!!

0704.16-Shania's raw diet [Country Weekly]:

The superstar was seen dining last week at the New York City raw-foods restaurant Pure Food and Wine. Shania’s 5-year-old son, Eja, reportedly is not on the diet. A gossip column recently reported that Shania insisted upon a raw foods menu backstage for her appearance at the Kennedy Center Honors gala honoring Dolly Parton. Shania is currently at work on her first album of all-new material since 2002’s Up!, set for release sometime in 2008. One of Shania's band members Cory Churko talks about the Raw Food diet he is on in the following podcast. He mentions 13:16 into the broadcast... "I WAS THE ONLY VEGETARIAN IN KELLY'S BAND..... IN SHANIA'S BAND THERE WERE ALOT MORE VEGETARIANS SO I'M ASSUMING THAT ON THE NEXT SHANIA TOUR ITS GOING TO BE GREAT..

On March 17th Randall Waller posted on his website the following news:

Mutt told me recently that he and Shania are writing for another record and so we all wait with baited breathe to see what they come up with… it’s always an exciting prospect to hear the results of their work…. I’ll NEVER forget hearing ‘Getcha Good’ for the first time at Nigel Green’s house in California… I was there with Hardy and Brent and it truly tweaked our minds… naturally we hope that this will mean another tour, but we’ll have to wait and see what direction they want to take this in. As Shania fans know Randall has been a part of Shania's touring band since the "Come On Over Tour". Randall also may make an appearance at the Shania Twain Centre 5th Annual Fan Con.

Shania will be on a new show called Video Joint. Shania is scheduled to be featured, in some way, on the "Video by Design", "Fair Warning", and "CMT Kicks" editions. In the February 12th issue of Country Weekly, they list of the Top 50 Love Songs, as voted on by the readers. Shania is on the list twice. Once at 25, for "From This Moment On", and at 38 with "Forever And For Always".

0701.11-Come On Over, Number 1 [Undercover]:

Shania Twain has maintained her status for having the number one selling album of the SoundScan era (1991-2006) for 'Come On Over'. It wasn't a huge sales year for the album. It sold just 53,000 units according to Nielsen SoundScan. However, Metallica is closing the gap, with the black album registering sales of around 340,000 units in 2006.

Today is Shania and Mutt's 13th Wedding Anniversary. Back in 1993, they were married at Deerhurst Resort, where Shania used to work before moving to Nashville. Happy Anniversary Shania and Mutt may you continue to be each other's one.

0612.05-Shania performs "Coat of Many Colors":

Shania attended the Kennedy Center Honors for Dolly Parton. According to reports, ....it was Shania Twain who stole the limelight on the red carpet in a revealing, hot pink dress. The dress was designed by Shania's favorite designer, Marc Bouwer. Shania also attended a dinner hosted by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice the night before. Shania wore a white dress to that event. CBS will be broadcasting the ceremony on December 26th. You will be able to see Shania perform "Coat of Many Colors". In other news from the event....I'm told Shania Twain has been added to the Parton tribute. The country crooner hasn't asked for too much in her green room. Her only demand, according to a source, is a raw-food menu of avocados, lemons, papayas, red and green seedless grapes, dried figs and dates, cucumbers, bananas, sugar- free fresh-squeezed orange juice, flat bottled water, salt and pepper, along with a cutting board and paring and chef's knives.

Dolly Parton will be receiving Kennedy Center Honors Award for life time contribution the arts and American culture tonight, December 3rd.  ET Canada reports Shania will be attending. Word is that Shania will be performing "Coat of Many Colors" with Alison Krauss. The show will air on CBS December 26th. Stay tuned for details.

Regardless of age, musical level, or style, he's got something to teach everyone, culled from 50 years of making music. But the chances are even greater that you won't succeed like his most famous protege. "Lou, thanks for all the lessons. Best wishes from an old friend, Shania Twain," reads an autographed photo on the wall of the Octave Studio, where he writes music in his home-based studio. He doesn't talk about Twain much, he's too busy playing, writing, and teaching 85 students. But he's staging 24 of his original songs at the Gabriola Community Hall, Saturday (Nov. 25), including one he wrote for her that she hasn't heard yet. "Years ago when I was playing with my band in Sudbury, Ont., I was approached by a couple during a break," he recalled. "They asked me if their little girl Eileen could sing something with us. "I said sure and wow, she had a lot of power and emotion," Gradanti said. "They were poor and didn't know what to do with her talent and determination, so they asked me if they could visit me in Toronto." At 11 years of age, the young Eileen Twain began staying with Gradanti and his wife in the big city, on and off, for about five years. He taught her how to sing, especially harmony and how to play the guitar. "I brought her onstage with my band and I was playing piano on the TV show Opry North, so I got her on TV for the first time, drove her around to radio stations for interviews and to gigs, got her started," Gradanti said. He lost touch until she called with bad news: her folks had been killed in a car accident. That's when he wrote You Made It All Right, a song that a grateful young woman sings to her fiercely dedicated mother.

According to the updated list of bestseller albums in the UK,  Shania Twain's "Come On Over" album ranks  #12. Shania's album sold 3.3 Million copies according to the Official UK Charts Company.

CMT aired their special "40 Days That Changed Country Music". As expected it was another lame CMT production. Most of the forty choices made no sense. Shania was only mentioned twice. One at #35 for Meeting Mutt, and another at #10 for the release of Come On Over. You can see video captures here.  (and to top it all off, they spelled her name wrong. It should be spelled Eilleen. Nice research CMT!

The newspaper Alto Aragon posted a picture of Shania getting ready for her perfume photo shoot. Here is a rare picture of Shania with curlers in her hair. After the shoot, Shania met with the Mayor of the town and signed autographs for fans. Shania was in Spain to shoot a commercial and to shoot new pictures to advertise her new perfume which will be added to the perfume Coty released last year.

According to the article Shania will be visit Alto Aragón tomorrow (10/26). The singer will spend hours in the small town of El Tormillo, to shoot new photos for an advertising campaign for a new fragrance which will be added to her Coty perfume line.

Million-Air certificates were also given out to artists whose work has been played over three million times on US television and radio. Shania Twain won one for her song You're Still the One, which has been played six million times.

Starting October 1st, a special edition bottle of Shania's perfume will go on sale with the proceeds going to breast cancer research. More details to follow.
