0508.31-Shania may appear on Desperate Housewives:

In the September 12th issue of Country Weekly it is being reported that Shania may appear in an episode of Desperate Housewives. Shania's song Shoes, appears on the CD soundtrack for the show, which is set for release on September 20th. The single has started to appear on radio stations around the USA. The single's official release is September 12th.

According to the Globe and Mail, the unauthorized movie about Shania Twain will not air as scheduled. Stay tuned for details.

0508.28-STNAOFC Fundraiser [STNAOFC]:

The Shania Twain North American Online Fan Club has launched its annual charity fundraiser to raise money for America's Second Harvest and Kid's Cafe. Over the next 4 weeks Shania memorabilia will be auctioned off to raise money for these two charities. Items have been donated by fans, Coty US LLC, Q Prime, and Mercury Records / UMG. E! True Hollywood Stories is filming in Timmins for an upcoming Divas episode in November. They have interviewed Tracy at the STC, and have been going around Timmins interviewing people who knew Shania when she was just Eilleen Twain.

Be sure to check out the August 29th issue of US Weekly. There is a picture from Shania's perfume photo shoot. The caption on the photo reads "Shania posed recently for ads for her fruity fragrance, Shania by Stetson, out September 1st. "There were horses that Shania spent time with," the scent's rep tells US Weekly of the Todos Santos, Mexico, shoot. "She loves horses!"

The "Desperate Housewives" CD arrives in stores September 20, featuring the premiere single/video "Shoes" by superstar Shania Twain. Produced by Mutt Lange and performed by Shania, "Shoes" is a droll look at love, comparing men to footwear (some fit, some don't).

The Third Annual Shania Twain Centre Worldwide Fan Convention came to a close yesterday. Special thanks to Tracy and the STC staff for once again putting together a great Fan Con. The album has been pushed back one week. It is now being released September 20th.

0508.19-XM Radio Update [XM Radio]:

XM Radio officially announced the schedule of "Shania: Forever and For Always". This will be a 6 part, 6 hour interview program hosted by Shania Twain. XM Radio. Shania says "I am very excited that my music and career will be showcased on XM," said Shania Twain. "Through the years I have always tried to find new ways to present my music and my story to my fans. I'm excited to explore this long- form interview concept and bring something unique and different to the table with this six-part series on XM." "It's nice to look back, even [for me], at the whole thing," continued Shania. "It's a great reflection."
Here is the episode schedule:

Episode One "The Early Days in Nashville," Shania recalls her move from Ontario to Nashville and the fear and frustrations of recording her first album. Premieres August 22, 9 am ET, with encores airing August 23, 6 pm ET; August 25, 9 pm ET; and August 27, 9 am ET.

Episode Two "Worlds Collide," Shania talks about her unlikely professional and personal collaboration with her acclaimed producer husband Mutt Lange. Premieres August 29, 9 am ET, with encores airing August 30, 6 pm ET; September 1, 9 pm ET; and September 3, 9 am ET.

Episode Three "International Superstar," Shania's success in the U.S. extends internationally creating fans all over the world. Premieres September 5, 9 am ET with encores airing September 6, 6 pm ET; September 8, 9 pm ET; and September 10, 9 am ET.

Episode Four "Off the Record," Shania talks about life outside of stardom as a wife, a mother and an advocate. Premieres September 12, 9 am ET with encores airing September 13, 6 pm ET; September 15, 9 pm ET; and September 17, 9 am ET.

Episode Five "Songwriter Extraordinaire," Shania discusses her love of songwriting and offers insight into the creative process behind many of her hit songs. Premieres September 19, 9 am ET with encores airing September 20, 6 pm ET; September 22, 9 pm ET; and September 24, 9 am ET.

Episode Six "The Industry Speaks Out," From the President of her record label to her fellow artists, the music industry weighs in on Shania's contributions to the format. Premieres September 26, 9 am ET with encores airing September 27, 6 pm ET; September 29, 9 pm ET; and October 1, 9 am ET.

0508.16-Perfume mentioned in Elle Magazine:

In the latest issue of Elle Magazine (JLo is on the cover), is a short article describing Shania's new perfume which hits stores September 1st. The article mentions the following:

The inspiration of the perfume bottle: Twain sent Stetson's marketing team a Polaroid of a vase she has at home. She "thought it was a great shape for a perfume bottle" and suggested the final design's "clear glass with a frosted top."

Ingredients of the perfume: Sweet fruit notes such as raspberry mingle with rose, freesia, and honeysuckle. A Prairie Rose (said to be the "heart" of the fragrance) Shania considers prairie rose, at the heart of the fragrance, versatile and a "favorite flower because it can create different moods." Green plant leaves with dew on them, Shania said "I love being outdoors," the singer says. An added note of dew on green plant leaves reflects that passion. Star fruit, pomegranate, and patchouli help round out the eau de toilette's aroma.
Inspiration: Part of Twain's inspiration was the "strength, power, and will of a woman," she says. "It's the same person conveyed in my song 'The Woman In Me.'"

XM Radio will air part one of the Shania biography show "Shania: Forever and For Always" on August 22nd. This will be a six part series on Channel Highway 16.

0508.14-Desperate Update [Nashville Kat]:

It appears that "Shoes" from the Desperate Housewives soundtrack is a NEW song!!!! Shania is also coming to New York City to shoot a video with the cast of the show!!! To pre-order the disc, click on the picture at the side of this story. The Desperate Housewives soundtrack is out Sept 13th & the 1st single is from Shania singing a song, “Shoes” it’s not a cover of Patsy Cline as we thought but written by my good friend Tammy Hyler, Collin Ray’s old girlfriend. Mutt & Shania say it’s an out of the box hit & she will soon head to NY to shoot a video with the entire cast of the show & just in time for the season opener of Desperate Housewives.

The latest news of Shania recording a new single is true. It looks like Shania has recorded a Patsy Cline tune called "Shoes" (which is currently speculation on many fan boards), for the upcoming "Desperate Housewives" soundtrack. You can pre-order the CD from AMAZON!!! The soundtrack is set for release on September 13th. Once there is more official information about the Shania track, I will post it on the news page.

Dear Super Shania Fans, the Shania Twain North American Online Fan Club is in the process of organizing this year's STNAOFC Fundraiser. As in previous years, the fundraiser along with Ebay auctions of Shania items will start on Shania's birthday, August 28. If you would like to donate Shania items to be auctioned off to benefit Shania's preferred charities America's Second Harvest and the Kids Cafe, please contact Joni by email at joni@shaniafans.com by August 12, 2005. The fundraiser last year was the club's most successful, raising $4,848.25 for America's Second Harvest.

0508.07-Class of 1995 [CMT]:

On August 20th on CMT, their "Class of" series looks at Shania Twain's "The Woman In Me". This half-hour special looks back at country music's movers and shakers of 1995, from Martina McBride's pivotal single, "Independence Day," to Alison Krauss' bounty of CMA Awards. For the first time, Garth Brooks collected all The Hits while Terri Clark staked her claim on the charts. Look back on career highlights of Shania Twain, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn and many more on CMT Class of 1995.

0508.07-Shania working on new single? [Penny Foster]:

It is being reported on Penny Foster's web page that she has been invited to work with Shania on a new single Shania is recording. This is the post that is currently on her site: Penny was invited to work with International Grammy Award winning recording Artist Shania Twain on her next single - She flew out to Geneva Switzerland on 1st August 05 and had a great time

It is not known whether this is for Shania's next album, or a stand alone single tied into her Perfume launch next month. Hopefully there will be official news soon.
