Shania Twain: German Shepherd Dog.
The German Shepherd Dog is a courageous, intelligent and steadfast breed. Known for its ability to adapt to a variety of settings, country singer Shania Twain has no difficulty acclimating Tim, a German Shepherd, to the dozens of cities she visits each year while on tour. Twain, who relies on Tim for both companionship and protection, has taken the necessary steps to ensure that her beloved dog is well cared for while on the road. Among Tim’s many perks, a May 1998 article in The Toronto Sun reported that Twain’s luxury tour bus was equipped with a customized doggie door. As fans know Tim passed away last year while Shania was on her Up! tour.

They made records for people ignored by the music business, which spends 80 percent of its marketing budget on 15- to 25-year-olds.

Stetson has set the launch date for Shania's perfume line for SEPTEMBER 1st!!!! The perfume has the following scent-Top Notes: Grapefruit, Mandarin, Nectarine, Red Berries, Star Fruit. Middle Notes: Prarie Rose, Jasmine, Honeysuckle. Base Notes: Sandalwood, Musk, White Amber, Patchouli.", according to basenotes website. Twain's broad appeal is not lost on mass market retailers. "Stetson is a huge brand for us. We are very excited about this launch," said a buyer from one of the top three mass chains. Industry sources expect Shania by Stetson to generate between $20 million to $30 million in first-year retail sales — that kind of a sales surge could spike Stetson's total sales by nearly 50 percent. Industry sources estimate Stetson is currently a $40 million brand. Coty — which has plenty of experience mining the power of musical performers — chose to put Shania's name front and center, as opposed to the Stetson brand. And the promotional poster.... Industry sources estimate Coty will back the launch with $10 million in marketing support. Coty executives unveiled the print ad last week: a shot of Twain wearing a Stetson hat, a pink prairie skirt and a white shirt (tied in a knot to reveal her midriff) with the tag line "Shania: The Will of a Woman." The ad, shot in Mexico by photographer Mikael Jansson, will begin running in September beauty books. E-mails will go to Twain's fan club, and scented postcards will be sent via the U.S. postal service to alert the singer's die-hard devotees about the fragrance. "We will reach 80 percent of our target audience eight times during the launch," noted Stephen Brodeck, group marketing director for Coty Beauty.
