Twain has been named by Forbes magazine as one of the best paid musicians, alongside singers such as Madonna, Sir Elton John and Rod Stewart. We'll take a look back at her career and find out how she made it to the top of the heap. The show airs at 1:30pm.

0506.19-Shania grateful for her fans:

During last week's Larry King interview, Shania mentioned she was feeling down because she could not perform at her best. As fans may remember Shania was ill during the last leg of the Up! Tour. She also mentioned she looks forward to touring again."....there was a period where it was really, really difficult, I was being really, really hard on myself, being a real perfectionist, got up on stage and thought, what are you people clapping for? I'm not doing well tonight. You know, because you know yourself. I'm not singing all that well. I'm not doing well. Why are you -- and nobody notices, it seems. I mean, they must, but fans are so forgiving and they're so dedicated. But I was in a weird phase and thought what are you clapping for? I'm not doing well. And it really got me down for awhile. But I came around and thought, you know, that's the beauty of all this, fans are special. They're not critics. And so I need to be grateful that these people are appreciating what I'm doing. And I'm giving -- I'm doing my best, even if my best isn't my best....Anyway, I'm grateful that the fans were still clapping. I got to the point where I was grateful, again. And really feeling -- thinking wow, I'm actually really quite liking this, that these people are cheering me on and it just feels really good. So yes, I look forward to doing that again."

0506.19-Shania's favorite new CD [Canada.com]:

Michael Buble's new CD "It's Time" is one of Shania's favorite new discs. In an article on Canada.com, it mentions that Mutt Lange even called to tell his manager how much they liked the CD. Even Mutt Lange, Shania Twain's husband and record producer, called Buble manager Bruce Allen the other day, extolling his love for It's Time. Can't get the record out of Shania's hands, he said. It's absolutely one of the top 10 greatest records of the year, he insisted.

0506.19-They're green:

One of Larry King's questions to Shania finally puts all the speculation to rest. What color are Shania's eyes? This has been debated on Shania fan sites around the net. Fans have speculated everything from green to brown. Shania even had blue eyes in her video "That Don't Impress Me Much" with the aid of contact lenses. Well, the debate is over....KING: Your eyes are green. Kind of green?
TWAIN: They're dark green, yes.
KING: Dark, beautiful. It's all you. You're a great guest, too.
TWAIN: Thanks.

0506.18-Shania: Biography:

This was an excellent Shania retrospective. While some of the things mentioned was a bit repetitive for her hard core fans, there was some new information sprinkled throughout the show. Tracy from the Shania Twain Centre also appeared in this special talking about Shania. I will have more on this special later tonight, when I post some video captures.

0506.18-Larry King Interview [CNN]:

Shania's taped interview from March 15th finally aired on June 17th. Shania talked about her music, songwriting, possible future plans on touring and maybe doing some cover tunes in addition to singing her own songs. Shania even talked about spending time in New Zealand for the last three months.

Here is part of the transcript you can find on TEAM SHANIA. I don't regret the simple life at all. I could -- you know I've just come back from New Zealand, living in a tiny little caravan for the last three months. I really -- you know no toilet, nothing. I like the simple life. I like the rustic life. I could do it any time, and before I got my recording contract in Nashville, I moved in -- I had to sell my house and move into a little 12-by-12-foot cabin out in the bush, out of town, no toilet, no running water, no heat, no electricity, nothing. And I lived out there by myself with my dog for several months, praying that my record contract would come through and it did. And of course, then I moved to Nashville.
Shania also talked about one of the first "extravagant things" she purchased when she "made it". TWAIN: I'm not a very material person in that sense, no. There isn't anything. Oh, I bought my first horse, yes. Because horses are pretty expensive to keep. KING: Yes, they are. TWAIN: So that was my dream: To own a horse. And I finally got a horse. That's true.

Shania Twain ranked 29 on the Forbes top 100 most powerful celebrities. Shania holds the distinction of being the only country artist on the list. So take that Country Radio!!!

"I Ain't No Quitter" appears to be stuck on the charts. Please show your support for this great Shania single. For a list of stations near you, and a list of streaming stations, be sure to check this thread. Also, Shania's biggest supporter so far has been WUSN in Chicago. They however have lowered the number of spins, so if you live in the area, please request there as well!!!! COME ON SHANIA FANS!!!! If we can get the song from under 50% to over 50% on Radio Lia, we can get this song into the TOP 40. (be sure to keep voting on Radio Lia as well!!!!)

The on again off again Shania Twain hour long interview with Larry King appears to be back on for this FRIDAY June 17th!! Check your local listings. 9pm EST, and Midnight re-run.

0506.14-Deerhurst DVD [Lime Light]:

According to an email I received from Lime Light Entertainment the Deerhurst DVD has been permanently shelved.

The board decided to withdraw from this project due to time restrictions in assembling it. There was also some questions regarding the quality of the entire project and it was critical that it be of only the highest standards befitting an artist with the stature of Shania Twain. Limelight Entertainment is only interested in putting out quality projects and would not like to have a DVD project released that did not come up to company standards

According to Rock on TV, The Shania Twain interview on Larry King has been rescheduled to June 14th at 9pm on CNN. As we have seen before this could be rescheduled at any time.

0506.12-Shania Twain Centre News [STC]:

The Shania Twain Centre website now has a NEW message board!!! Go there to talk about the latest exhibits being added, the annual fan conventions and share your experiences of your visits to Timmins and the Centre. So be sure to Come On Over!!!! Also, Tracy who runs the Shania Twain Centre is in Nashville for the CMA Music Festival. The STC has a booth in the exhibit hall, so if you are going be sure to check it out!! There is STC merchandise for sale, and Tracy probably brought down a few of Shania's outfits to display like she did last year. Be sure to join the fun this summer and register for the annual fan convention in Timmins!!

0506.12-Eilleen Twain "Mixes" CD [Lime Light]:

Before she was well known, Harry Hinde released a CD entitled "The Complete Limelight Sessions" The songs on "The Complete Limelight Sessions" are decidedly pop music but you get to hear her strong voice and the real beginning of her song writing ability.
In this CD, “The Remixes” Harry Hinde as taken 10 of the original 17 songs and has brought in new musicians to update the sounds and music, while still retaining “Shania’s” powerful vocals. LEI has also acquired the Eileen Shania Twain’s “The Guido dance Mixes” which will also be marketed and a version or two included as bonuses on the The Remixes CD. Also according to their website, a DVD of Eilleen's performance at Deerhurst will be released as well.

0506.12-"Daisy Duke" a Shania fan:

The original "Daisy Duke", Catherine Bach was on the CMT Top 20 Countdown, and announced the #5 video, which was "Don't". Catherine mentioned that Shania was one of her favorite singers! You can purchase the original Dukes of Hazzard series on DVD.

0506.07-Shania at Red Cross Gala [Schweizer Illustrierte]:

Shania was spotted at the Red Cross Gala this past week in Switzerland. Shania said she picked out the dress at a boutique, and did her own hair (which took her an hour to do. Shania also mentioned that Mutt was at home watching Eja. The Red Cross Gala took place in Morges (at Lake Geneva). The Gala evening was to raise money for the Swiss Red Cross. Thank you Paul and Brigitte Kolb for the scans and the news. Here is the complete translation of the article: Superstar Shania Twain-solo and unaccompanied-mingled with the guests. "I love living in Switzerland. It is so calm", said the singer. She wore clothes bought in Geneva from a small shop, not a name designer. "I don't know the brand, but I do know the name of the shop is Vogue," she said modestly.

The unauthorized movie about Shania's life being produced by the CBC in Canada is set to debut on October 2nd. The movie covers Shania's childhood to the time she meets Mutt Lange. The movie is based on Robin Eggar's book "Shania Twain: The Biography".

0506.05-Shania perfume publicity:

While Shania was in New York doing some initial publicity for her perfume line which launches this September, she talked with Tammy Siu from US Weekly for a future article to appear in the magazine.

0506.01-Jennifer Garner's beauty secret [Cleveland]:

Ever wonder how celebs get that beautiful skin? Other than through the creative use of airbrushing? Well, Star magazine came out with a doozy: cow udder cream. A witness to the transaction told the mag that actress Jennifer Garner bought the stuff farmers favor because she'd heard that Shania Twain slathers it all over her face and body. Confession time: When I went to Iraq for The Plain Dealer a year or so ago, I took a tube of the same stuff. It's great on hands left chapped and bleeding by arid winter cold. Plus it's unscented, so you don't smell like a flower shop, which is important when surrounded by men with firearms.

Citizens Helping Heroes (CHH), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded to help support America's military families. CHH's goal is to raise significant funds to support the official military relief societies of each branch of the Armed Services, United Service Organization (USO, Washington, DC.), Fisher House and the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). A main goal of the organization is to educate Americans about the unique difficulties facing military families and the important work and support our beneficiaries provide to those in need. Shania has donated a pair of autographed sneakers. These ultra-cool sneakers were donated by the internationally-acclaimed artist, Shania Twain, from her own personal wardrobe stash!
