for the tour [Country
Weekly]:
Shania
Twain is getting ready for a tour in the fall – but she has to iron out a
few details first.
For instance, she still needs an opening act. "There will be an opening
act," says Shania. "I just don't know who that will be yet."
The tour kicks off during the last week of September, although not all of
the dates have been decided. So far, there are shows scheduled on July 5
in Ireland and July 12 at Hyde Park in London.
"It's going to be a very international tour," Shania says. "I plan on
going all the way around the world this time, which is going to be great
fun. Of course, I'll spend most of my tour in the U.S."
0305.28-Forever and For
Always [Net
Music]:
Shania
says that she doesn't know if she'll still be touring or recording in 20
years, but she says he may never be able to give music up completely.
"I will always do music with the same enthusiasm because it's my
passion, I love it. Whether I'll do it with an audience or not, that I
don¹t know. And, whether I'll be making records 20 years from now, that I
don¹t know. But music is such a part of me it would be like losing a limb
if I didn't have music," she concludes.

0305.26-Duet with Shania
and Reba, not yet [CMT]:
A spokeswoman for producers Buddy Cannon and Norro Wilson
assures Hot Talk that there's no truth to the rumor that Shania Twain will
record a duet when Reba McEntire returns to the studio this summer. Cannon
and Wilson are co-producing McEntire's new project and were prominent in
Twain's early career at Mercury Records.

0305.24-Shania talks about
the tour [CMT]
CMT
talked with Shania backstage at the ACM Awards:
Twain said her world tour will kick off during the last week of September.
Specific dates haven't been announced, although Twain previously scheduled
shows on July 5 at Nowlan Park in Kilkenny, Ireland, and July 12 at Hyde
Park in London. "It's going to be a very international tour," she said. "I
plan on going all the way around the world this time, which is going to be
great fun. Of course, I'll spend most of my touring in the U.S." Although
Twain said her tour will feature an opening act, she added, "I just don't
know who that's going to be right now."
Twain said she hasn't discovered any undue pressure recording and
promoting her latest album, Up!, after taking time off to become a mother.
"Having a child was just something that fell in naturally," she explained.
"It's not like fame and stardom and all of that stuff happened all at once
and then all of a sudden had a child. It's all happened very gradually
over a very long period of time. I mean, I waited to have a child. I'm 37
years old and I think I'm at the point of maturity where it's all falling
into a very natural place."
One reporter asked Twain to reveal the most outrageous rumor she's ever
heard about herself. "That I have a no-sex marriage," she laughed. "That's
not true."
Twain seemed somewhat testy when another reporter suggested that Up!
wasn't selling well. "I think that's totally not true," she said. "I think
it's selling great. It's doing fantastic. It's selling more than what my
other two albums sold at the same stage. It's actually doing very, very
well. I'm very happy with the whole thing. It's doing very well,
actually." Twain became the first female artist to receive back-to-back
Diamond Award designations from the RIAA for sales of more than 10 million
copies. Twain's The Woman in Me has now sold more than 12 million copies.
The follow-up, Come on Over, has sold more than 19 million.

Country Stars
reports :
SHANIA TWAIN sang "Forever and For Always," looking sweetly laid back as
she sat, cross-legged in center stage, making that huge platform feel as
intimate as the song.

Asked about her re-entry to performing and appearing, she said, "It's been
a blur, actually the last 10 years have been a blur."
Shania said backstage that she was very happy with her album sales that
she said are ahead of both of her other monster albums were at the same
point.
While in Las Vegas she saw Olivia Newton John's she and said, "And I'm
going to see Celine Dion before I leave, I'm really looking forward to
that."

0305.21-"The pressure is
off" [Launch]
Twain said she has achieved everything she has ever wanted as far as music
is concerned. "I was very relaxed and comfortable with that and very happy
to say I've gone way beyond my own personal goals in this industry, and
whatever happens from here I'll just feel very, extremely fortunate, so
that pressure's off more than anything," Twain said.

0305.15-"I can see in their
faces what the songs mean to the them..." [LAM
Online]:
Shania
talks about her upcoming tour: Shania brings her traveling
road show to the UK in the summer, with massive concerts in Hyde Park no
less, and claims she can't wait to get out there and strut her well-liked
stuff. And why? Because to paraphrase a song her hubby was involved with,
everything she does, she does it for you. "I greatly enjoy
touring. In a way, live shows are the greatest award," she says. "I can
see in their faces what the songs mean to the fans. Music makes me high.
Then when I see in the faces of the listeners that they are touched in a
similar way, I know exactly why I came."
Shania discusses Up!:
Mutt and I worked as a team, and so we were able to put so much more
into this album than I had ever done before," Shania explains. "We did all
that was possible, invested all our effort and dedication, and I'm really
amazed by the result," she says, gob smacked at their achievements.
"The complete album had a different process of development. We traveled
much more, and let in musical elements and inspiration from all parts of
the world. There are Indian musicians in there as we recorded in Mumbai,
India.
"While writing the songs we jumped from city to city; Vienna, Paris,
Berlin, Milan, Roma, in Province and at the Grenadine of Iceland. This
time, the music was formed in smaller parts, but during a longer period
of time.
"It is a way to keep yourself musically fresh. I don't want to get
stuck in a certain style, I try to be unique and original.
and her influences:
"I
listened to all kinds of music, we had a multi-format station happening in
our home town. I heard 'everything' through radio, but at home it was
always country. And I only sang country music as a child. I had other
influences. I was really enamored with the Carpenters, their harmonies...
were so beautiful. Her voice is just like silk, it is so gorgeous. Then
there was Dolly. Dolly Parton is the one from the beginning, right up
until now, that has been the 'one'. " To read the rest of the article

0305.14-Shania in Control [CountryStars]
Shania
Twain has complete creative control over her videos, She probably
has proposed an idea or two that was accepted. To show you how smart she
is, when she first signed a contract with Mercury Records the only thing
she insisted on having total control over was her image and videos. When
her first songs were released they were not great tunes, but her sexy
videos kept people interested in her. After she married her producer Mutt
Lange, and scored such monster hits, she now has total creative control
over her career

Still The One [Shania
Forums]:
On
June 8th, CMT will broadcast a special on the 100 Greatest Country Songs
of All Time. At that time, they will be ranked. But Country Music magazine
has the alphabetical list, and You're Still The One made it!
Congratulations, Shania & Mutt! Here's what they have to say about it:
You're Still The One
Shania Twain
(Robert John "Mutt" Lange/Shania Twain)
The Canadian powerhouse may be best known for her catchy, energetic
style, but she's proven equally capable at casting a spell with a ballad.
This sweet love song, about longevity and true commitment, proved just as
infectious as her dance songs. It also revealed a principled heart beating
above that famous midriff.
BTW, in the same issue (Vince Gill on the cover) is a nice article about
the uplifting power of the "UP!" single.
Congratulations Shania!!!!

never imagine how tiring it can be...no matter how people tell you or warn
you, it's very tiring."

0305.05-From
This Moment [American Way]

Shania discusses a "romantic visit to Paris". She talks about her favorite
stores, where she picked out Eja's first outfit.
"My favorite store in Paris is a kid’s store,
Bonpoint. That’s where I got Eja’s first clothes, the clothes we took him
home from the hospital in"
Shania also reveals for the first time, details of her
engagement.
ONE GREAT DAY IN PARIS
“I was engaged in Paris. Mutt was actually recording there with Bryan
Adams. He said, ‘Why don’t you come with me to Paris when I do this? We’ll
be working in the studio. I’m not going to
have
time to be with you very much. I want you to be able to enjoy Paris, so I
want to invite your sisters along.’ He wanted
them to be there for that moment. I brought my own engagement ring with me
and didn’t even know it. He just said, ‘Listen, someone’s going to bring
you a small package. There’s a video in there that I’ve got to see. Could
you bring it with you when you come to Paris? And don’t lose it!’ I said,
‘Okay, sure,’ and I put this package in my luggage. I had no idea I was
bringing my own ring over. We were in a hotel just off the Champs-Elysées.
It was 3 o’clock in the morning and he had just come back from the studio.
I was still awake and he proposed to me then. Paris is the city of
romance! There’s something dreamy and surreal about the fact I was engaged
in Paris on my first trip there. It made it very special.”
