0410.30-Timmins
aflutter over Twain [Canada]:
STNAOFC webmaster, Francesca Vassallo is positively
giddy about making her fifth trip in four years to the sleepy northern
Ontario city of Timmins. he political science professor from Portland,
Maine wants to be with fellow Shania Twain fans when the singer returns
home Tuesday to cut the ribbon on a museum dedicated to her career. "For
every Shania fan, it's a dream come true to go to Timmins," said
Vassallo."Everything Shania says about the city is true. It really is the
city with the heart of gold."
0410.30-Shania
"after midnite" [AfterMidNite]:
Shania is also going to be the guest

0410.30-Greatest
Hits on GAC [Mercury]:
"GAC will air a half-hour special on Shania's
Greatest Hits. Friday, December 3rd. Check out gactv.com for show times. "
0410.29-"Eja
was a real trouper" [Toronto
Sun]:
Twain and hubby/uber-producer Robert John "Mutt"
Lange may try for another child in her down-time, she said there are no
plans to give three-year-old son Eja a sibling. "He's beautiful and we're
having such a great time," said Twain. "If it happened, it would be an
accident, let's put it that way. We're not planning another one. I'd
always welcome another child, but we're not going to plan for it. And
we're quite happy the way we are. We've got so much to look forward to,
with the (Up!) tour ending, and Eja's going to be starting school in a
year or so. I look forward to all those things. I won't want him to start
school earlier than he has to. I'd like to wait until he's five if I can."
Incidentally, Twain doesn't think turning 40 is a big deal: "It doesn't
make any difference. You change physically, but I'm happy to do that."
Twain did say that Eja surprised her by how much he enjoyed going on the
road for Up! "He did great. He was a real trouper about it all. He had his
bed on the bus. He loved the bus. Whenever we'd leave it to go somewhere,
the bus couldn't come with us or whatever, he'd go (adopts little boy
tone) 'Where's my bus? I want my bus!' "
0410.29-"a
change of direction..." [Toronto
Sun]:
...."Really my goal probably for the next year is
just writing," said Twain, 39, relaxing on a couch in one of the hotel's
ballrooms and dressed casually in a black hoodie, grey shirt and black
pants with matching black boots. "I need to write again. So I don't know
when the next album's going to be. I don't know when the next tour is
going to be. And I think that what this album represents, for me, this
greatest hits, is a period of pause." Twain said she didn't even know what
musical direction she may take for her next studio album -- the official
follow-up to her 2002 release Up!. "I don't know if I want to change
direction," said Twain, who lives about 15 minutes outside Montreux in the
exclusive neighborhood of Tour-de-Peilz. "I've entertained the idea of
doing a really rootsy, country sound; it would be more on the bluegrass
side. Would I want to do a straight-ahead pop record? I've entertained the
thoughts of doing just duets with all my favourite artists. I've thought
of maybe doing an album of covers of my favourite classics. And so what
kind of album is the next album going to be? I don't know. I have to think
about it a little more." ....

Shania's upcoming CMT Specials:
SHANIA TWAIN: CMT INSIDER SPECIAL EDITION
premieres Friday, Nov. 5 at 10:00 PM, Eastern; 9:00 PM, Central;
11:00 PM, Mountain; and 10:00 PM, Pacific. Summary: Shania comments on
her first
No. 1 single (1995) written with husband Mutt Lange. "'Any Man Of Mine'
was a risky song to release. At the time a lot of people were afraid of
it. It was way too edgy for what was going on. It really threw a lot of
people off, but I call that my career song. That's the song I think that
really, really broke me in a big way, because it was so different. It
became signature of what Mutt and I have continued to do. It's really a
good example of what we are as a combination writing team." In addition,
Shania talks to CMT INSIDER about turning 40 next year. "I think I've done
so much in such a concentrated period of time that age isn't going to
change me. You have to be confident in what you've achieved. I just feel
comfortable moving on to whatever it is." Shania tells CMT about the
attitude her mother, who died at age 42, had about age. "I remember when
she turned 40 she said 'I'm just so happy to be getting older, maturing. I
wouldn't change it for anything.' So many benefits come with that," Shania
said.

the movie update [wawatay]:
This
is the back-story of one of the most successful female artists of all
time,” said O’Donnell of the film, which is scheduled to air in the spring
of 2005 through CBC. “It will take our audience from a gangly
eight-year-old with a powerful voice who was singing in northern Ontario’s
bars for tips to the determined teenager dragging a Sudbury band into the
limelight.” The show will then bring audiences to Nashville and an
industry that wanted her voice, but not her music, and to her first
encounter with renowned music producer Mutt Lange. “This is a story about
one girl’s triumph over really difficult odds,” O’Donnell said...The
film’s screenplay was written by Shelley Eriksen with research by Robin
Eggar, author of Shania Twain. It covers the period from 1973 to 1993.
Not only will Shania be broadcast on CBC in the spring of 2005, it will
also be aired on W Network and CMT.

Be sure to check out tomorrow's (0410.19) edition of USA Today for an
article on Billy Currington. Be sure to
REQUEST THE SONG-PARTY
FOR TWO!!! The article is online. Here is what Billy has to say
about Shania: Party for Two, a new duet with Shania
Twain, puts the 30-year-old Georgia native in a whole new league. The
collaboration appears on Twain's forthcoming Greatest Hits album, as does
a second version of the song with Sugar Ray front man Mark McGrath. Though
Currington's Walk a Little Straighter and I Got a Feelin' both peaked
higher than Party for Two has (it's No. 19 on the Radio Monitor country
chart), the duet has increased his profile dramatically. "It totally
changes everything. Every time I go anywhere now, I get recognized more,
just because of being in the video with her."

continues to prepare for visit [TDP]:
I’m
a little nervous,” customer service manager for the centre Tracy Hautanen
said. “We are updating the exhibits right now. We want to make sure that a
lot of her greatest hits are on display.” Employees say they are
scrambling to polish the place, making it worthy of the country
superstar’s visit. “We want it to look as sparkly as it did the day it
opened,” Hautanen said. Universal Music and Twain’s management are working
closely with the centre to make sure everything runs smoothly, Hautanen
said.....The centre is hoping to fill the parking lot, which they
estimated will fit about 5,000 people. “We’re going to have live
entertainment, music and refreshments,” Hautanen said. “We want to keep
people in an upbeat mood until Shania takes the stage.” Although
most fans traveling from out of town have have likely seen Twain in
concert, Hautanen said this will be a different experience for them. “They
are excited to be seeing Shania in her hometown, and to see her unveiling
the building named after her,” she said. But Hautanen expects most fans
will be locals “to show their support for the centre.” The city is also
expecting a media frenzy to accompany the visit. CTV crews will be
following her all day, filming a one-hour special. Other national
newswires, major broadcasters and newspapers are also expected to attend.
“We’ve had lots of calls from several media outlets,” Hautanen said. The
centre has set itself a schedule leading up to Nov. 2. Twain is expected
to be at the centre from 11 a.m-5 p.m. For the first three hours, she will
tour the building. In the afternoon, a public welcoming ceremony and
the official opening of the centre will be held outside in the parking
lot. Afterwards, 150 fans will have a chance to meet Twain for an
autograph. Details on how to get wristbands to meet Twain in person are to
be released soon.

have ever visited. Congratulations to all those responsible for this
wonderful “gem” in Timmins.

my little mommy":
Shania
on CMT CENTRAL, (CMT CANADA) Friday talked about her son Eja, and some of
the cute things he says, like: "You're my little mommy", and "I'm little,
you're little, and daddy is big". Shania says Eja says it in the same
way they talk to
kids, like, "You're my little boy". Shania says being a mom is "such a beautiful
experience, there is so much love there, and you realize how innocent
these little people are and how much they need you. You realize that you
are a teacher all of a sudden, which is great and you realize you're being observed
constantly, so you've gotta be an upstanding citizen"
Thanks to DAX for the captures:
