0510.23-A Life In Eight Albums
[CBC]:
More
information on the Shania Biography Movie "Shania: A Life In Eight
Albums". A two-hour CBC Big Ticket
film-for-television which tells the inspiring rags-to-riches story of one
Canada's most beloved and successful female artists of all time featuring
Meredith Henderson (The Adventures of Shirley Holmes, MythQuest) starring
in the lead role of megastar Shania Twain. SHANIA depicts the superstar's
early years and her struggle for stardom. The drama takes viewers on a
compelling journey spanning two decades, beginning in 1973 with a gangly
eight-year-old known as Elly (Reva Timbers) belting out songs in Northern
Ontario bars for tips, continuing with a determined teenager (Shenae
Grimes) making her own way to Toronto for an appearance on The Tommy
Hunter Show, to
an
under-age teen (Meredith Henderson) dragging a Sudbury bar band into the
limelight. SHANIA then follows Eilleen Twain to Nashville where she finds
a cut-throat industry wanting only her voice - not her music. Finally, we
see Eilleen on the cusp of transforming into one of the world's most
celebrated stars when she gets a fateful call from renowned music producer
Mutt Lange. The film also features Megan Follows as Shania's mother Sharon
Twain; Eric Schweig as her adoptive father Jerry; Darrell Dennis as one of
her early mentors, symphony conductor John Kim Bell and Gordon Tootoosis
as her beloved grandfather, who introduces her to the richness of First
Nations' music, traditions and ceremony.

[STC]:
The
staff at the Shania Twain Centre are working on their float for the
Timmins' Christmas Parade. Tracy will be updating the STC Board
with
their progress on the construction. In 2002, their float was based on
Shania's hit video "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!", followed in 2003 by an
Up! float. This year's entry is based on Shania's new single
"Shoes". Can't wait to see what it looks like when it is finished!! Keep
Up! the great work!
0510.11-Just your average
housewife [Country
Now]:
With
all of the new artists that have emerged onto the country scene over the
past couple of years, it might be easy to overlook Shania Twain, even
though she's hardly a grizzled veteran. Shania, who turned 40 in August,
might be keeping the home fires burnin' more often than she did several
years ago, but she still knows how to deliver when it comes to some of the
kickingest country around. Witness "Shoes," the first single taken from
the Music From and Inspired by Desperate Housewives album. It's a bouncy,
sprightly number that compares men to all kinds of footwear, and it's the
kind of song you could picture Shania -- and only Shania -- delivering
with that kind of fun, sassy attitude. It might not signal a return to
complete chart dominance, but it does signal that there's still an awful
lot of gas left in that tank of hers, so come get your fill!
0510.11-Shoes video not
happening:
The previously announced video apparently is not going to happen.
Hopefully there will be an official announcement as to what happened with
it. I was really looking forward to a video for this song too. Oh well.
