Shania rocketed back into the spotlight these past two weeks with the launch of her new book "From This Moment", which enters the NY Times Bestsellers list at #5. Congratulations Shania!!!! Shania appeared on Oprah, Today Show, Nightline. Shania then made her way to Canada for the Marilyn Dennis Show. Shania will be on Access Hollywood this Monday for Part 2 of an interview started on Friday. Shania also announced on Oprah that she will be taking the audience to CMA FEST in June.

Shania starts publicity for her new book "From This Moment", this week on Oprah and the Today show. Sunday, May 8th is the start of her new series "Why Not?"

1103.27-Shania inducted into Hall of Fame:

Shania was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame on the 2011 Juno Awards. Her friend Bryan Adams presented the award to her. Bryan who called her a “Canadian treasure.” “Thank you so much,” said Twain, clad in a sparkling sleeveless gown. “I really am turning into such a sap. But this is just a very beautiful moment for me. I am, I'm really so proud of Canada's talent. I sit here tonight in the audience, and I watch these amazing artists up here on the stage, world-class talent, songwriters, singers, performers — we should be proud of these people. They're just blowing me away. “I guess, I have more pride in what the country has created musically than I am even of my own success. Honestly, I'm just more proud to be from Canada, and to be part of everything that's happening here musically. “This is a beautiful country. ... Frederic Nicolas Thiebaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship. 1009.23-Shania autobiography [Reuters]:

Shania announced that she will be releasing her autobiography in 2011. In the press release, Shania made the following statement: that she felt an urgency to share her story before she ran out of time and described the book as "an honest and complete account of my life, in my own words." "There have been moments in my life I was concerned by the reality that tomorrow would never come. Recently I experienced one of those moments to an intensity that brought on a sudden urgency to document my life before I ran out of time," she said.

1008.25-Shania signs with new Management[COD]:

Country On Demand reports Shania has signed with a new Management company. UMG Nashville/Mercury Records artist Shania Twain has signed a new management deal with newly-formed Sandbox Management. Managing Shania is her long-time UMG publicist Jason Owen, who exits the label on September 3. "Shania and I have been together for over eight years in my role at UMG and to start this new journey with her is a true privilege for me," Owen told Country Aircheck today. "We have some exciting plans in the works that will expand her worldwide career into new areas of music and entertainment, which will all be revealed very soon."
 

1007.01-Shania is officially single [People]:

Shania and Mutt's divorce is officially complete. According to People Magazine....Even as her divorce from Robert "Mutt" Lange was quietly being finalized in Switzerland, Twain, 44, was looking like a woman in love at the Swiss Red Cross Ball on May 29. Dancing the night away with Frédéric Thiébaud (the other woman's ex-husband), 40, "she was radiantly happy," says a source close to her.  "Her happiness certainly shone through," says her friend Stéphane Lagonico, an ambassador for the Swiss Red Cross, who organized the ball. "They are a great addition to each other's lives."

Shania Twain will mentor American Idol contestants on the April 27th and April 28th episodes of American Idol, on FOX. Shania's songs will be featured as the contestants will be singing them.

1004.10-Emgering from a deep dark slump [People]:

"I feel like in a way I'm starting over, with everything," Twain, 44, told Winfrey in an interview at an event in New York on Thursday. "This is a very personal experience that I think is important to share. This is an experience of recovery. I was in a very deep, dark slump, and I needed to find a way to get myself out of it. I had to force myself back out into life, back out into experiencing things."..."One day, someone said to me, 'Do you want to go jump out of an airplane?' " she said. "I felt like I had nothing to lose anymore, so I said, 'Why not?' And every day since then, I ask myself that question."

Twain, 44, will star on Why Not? With Shania Twain, an hour-long series premiering on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. "The show will follow [Twain] as she begins her climb back to the top, a personal journey filled with risk, revelations and unexpected adventures," says a statement from the network. 1004.10-Support Timmins Hospital [STC]:

The Timmins and District Hospital is auctioning a guitar that Shania signed while home for the holidays this year. You may recognize the guitar as it is the same as one she currently owns. It will be on EBay starting April 22nd through to May 1st. If you are interested be sure to check it out. All proceeds will assist the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation!!

1004.10-Shania returns to American Idol:

TV GUIDE reports that Shania will be returning to American Idol to mentor the contestants. No date has been given as to when this episode would air. “Shania really enjoyed doing the show,” says her rep. And while he wouldn’t officially confirm her repeat appearance, he adds, “She’d love to go back.”

1001.20-Shania+ American Idol [OFC]:

Shania was a guest judge on American Idol last night, and it was ratings gold.  FOX scored the #1 spot in the ratings for last night's American Idol with special guest judge, Shania Twain!!  Idol dominated above the competition, with a 16.6 rating/24 share at 8pm. Comparably, and completely unprecedented, was growth for Idol over the year-ago telecast (12.5/18 on Jan. 20, 2009) of 33 percent. Never in the history of television has a tv show in it's ninth season posted gains this large from the year-ago period. The Shania Twain Centre has announced the dates for the 2010 Shania Twain Fan Convention. See you in Timmins on August 5th to the 8th. Check this space and the above link for further details as the date gets closer.

1001.10-Shania Kids Can [OFC]:

Shania announced her new charity to help underprivileged kids. The new organization is called "Shania Kids Can". Shania announced her latest initiative on CBC Radio, when she hosted the show "The Current". Shania Kids Can is a program designed for kids at primary school level who are having personal problems at home. As a result these children often have difficulties functioning at their full potential in the school environment either socially, behaviorally, academically or all three. Children with personal life challenges might come to school with low self-esteem, depressed, tired or hungry - not ideal for taking in the joy of learning, the security of community and the pleasure of friendship.

1001.06-Shania, radio host [OFC]:

Shania will host radio show on January 8th. Before Shania Twain guest judges "American Idol" auditions later this month, the country star on Friday will grab a Canadian Broadcasting Corp. radio mic in Toronto to interview Queen Rania of Jordan. Twain is to guest host the CBC's "The Current" radio show and is slated to ask the Jordanian queen about her global charity for underprivileged youth, 1Goal.  Twain, who experienced childhood poverty growing up in northern Ontario, as part of her radio gig will also visit an inner-city Toronto school to perform for students and preach help for young talent. Twain last week carried the Olympic torch in front of thousands in her hometown of Timmins, Ontario, ahead of the Vancouver/Whistler Games, which kick off Feb. 12

1001.06-Shania, torch runner:

On New Year's Day Shania ran the last leg of the Olympic Torch Run in her hometown of Timmins. Fans and spectators braved -40 degree weather to see Shania light the cauldron. Shania made a short statement on stage, "It wouldn't be Timmins," she laughed, "if it wasn't, you know, forty below with the wind-chill!" The appreciative crowd hollered and cheered their approval. Shania the following day donated her outfit and torch to the Shania Twain Centre. Having attended the event, I will post some pictures from the event. Look for updates this weekend. 0912.27-Shania, torch runner [Timmins Daily Press]:

Beginning at exactly 6:14 p. m., the first two runners will take the torch from the Tim Hortons in South Porcupine to Legion Dr., where it will be passed off and driven to the flags in Schumacher. The torch will then head down Father Costello Drive before turning back onto Hwy. 101 and onward to the Hollinger Park. At the Algonquin Blvd. and Brunette Rd. intersection, Shania Twain will grab hold of the torch and run it up to the stage where she will light the cauldron at precisely 7 p. m.  "People will be able to view the show from anywhere because there will be large screens set up," Richardson said. "Shania will be saying a few words to her hometown crowd, but we have not asked her to perform.  "However, she is welcome to do whatever she likes."

0912.27-Shania's Christmas Message [OFC]:

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!! I've been in the North Country of Ontario, Canada and, after a crazy drive through a snowstorm to get here, I finally made it North for the holidays to take in the spirit of a great, white Christmas. What would normally be a two-and-a-half hour drive took over seven hours with several accidents along the way. We experienced dead stops of long waits during whiteouts. Miles of vehicles were lined up bumper to bumper, blanketed in snow from hours of sitting and waiting for news of what was happening up ahead. Very scary driving conditions, and I really felt lucky to have made it safely in the end. It was centimeter after centimeter of snow falling for hours on end. Even we Northerners can only cope with so much snow all at once. I have personally never seen such a crisis just over falling snow, but this snowfall was an exception. We normally cope pretty well, and falling snow is just a part of another winter day, but this storm was a doozy! To read more check out the link above.
