(4/10/03, 3 p.m. ET) -- Shania Twain performed with
Willie Nelson for the first time on Wednesday (April 9) during the
taping of the Willie Nelson & Friends: Live And Kickin' concert in
celebration of Nelson's upcoming 70th birthday at the Beacon Theatre
in New York. Twain performed her current single, "Forever And For
Always," as well as dueting with Nelson on his "Blue Eyes Crying In
The Rain," a song Twain says is her favorite.
As a child, Twain performed the song during her club sets. "It's one
of my favorite songs," Twain said. "I absolutely love 'Blue Eyes
Crying In The Rain.' I sang it when I was a child. It was part of my
club repertoire, so that's really it. It was the song I chose as a
child to sing in my set when I was a club singer as a kid."
Twain said that she opted to travel to New York for the special
concert because it was the first chance she'd been offered to sing
with the legendary Nelson. "Well, it was the first opportunity I'd
really had to sing with him, and so I took it," Twain said.
